Chiefs Injury Update - Gonzo & Holmes Practice Wed Aug 10, 2005
The Kansas City Star reports Chiefs TE Tony Gonzalez and RB Priest Holmes were back at practice Tuesday. The Pro Bowlers participated in a limited indoor workout in shells Tuesday as the rain reached monsoon-like levels outdoors. Gonzalez, who left Saturday night's practice because of a sore foot, caught several deep passes from QB Trent Green. As Gonzalez stretched before Tuesday's practice, HC Dick Vermeil smiled and slapped Gonzalez's hand. Holmes, who's been out since Saturday because of a leg bruise, caught a screen pass at the start of the afternoon workout. "All coaches have security blankets," Vermeil said. "Seeing Tony Gonzalez and Priest Holmes out there, you feel better." DL Jimmy Wilkerson also returned to practice Tuesday. RB Larry Johnson (thigh), RB Sam Gado (neck), WR Freddie Mitchell (knee), WR Nathaniel Curry (hamstring), TE Jason Dunn (back spasms), OL Will Shields (back), OL Peter Heyer (ankle), DL Khari Long (back), LB Shawn Barber (knee), LB Mike Maslowski (knee) and LB Quinton Caver (knee) did not practice. |
