| The Pulse is just cruising along, racking up another strong 4-star lock with Denver/Philadelphia over 42 last week. This one was over in the 3rd quarter. The Broncos’ score alone was “over” the total. The crystal ball is on autopilot at the corporate office and has come up with another nice total play for week 9 in the NFL. Play of the Week The Pulse's Record: +11.5 Units Oakland vs. Kansas City The Pulse gives this play a 3-Star rating, and says: Take the UNDER 53! With a very limited slate of games as the NFL BYE weeks continue, The Pulse has a medium play that has possibilities with the right conditions in place. This game likely has those conditions in play for a dead set “under”. The Raiders are a team on the rise, winning 3 out of 4 games while employing a good mix of short passes and a ground game spearheaded by Lamont Jordan. The defense is hanging on with a nice pass rush and decent linebacking play. The question mark for the Raiders is their secondary, which after being decimated by injuries, was is starting two rookies, a 2nd year man and a practice squad player. Raiders Head Coach Norv Turner knows he needs to control the clock to keep KC’s dangerous passing game in check. With continued success on the ground and a short passing game, the Raiders will look to control the time of possession and keep the clock moving. The Kansas City Chiefs are quite an enigma. A team that was designed as a quick strike offense has reverted to improved defensive play and a very strong running game, with Holmes and Johnson leading the charge. The Chiefs’ game plan will try to keep the improving Raiders’ pass rush off of Trent Green by running the ball early and often. The Chiefs also have issues with their secondary, so we expect this game to be “back to basics” grind-it-out football with the offensive and defensive lines determining the fate of both teams. This game will be won in the trenches, which should make an over-inflated number (52) an easy win for the UNDER. Additionally, this game will be played in Kansas City where the weather forecast predicts overcast and rainy conditions for both Saturday and Sunday. This could mean some heavy footing for the players. The total is high in this game, based on the majority feeling that these two teams will look to play this game like an old AFL shootout with bombs galore flying around Arrowhead Stadium. With Moss still hurting for the Raiders and the Chiefs not having a true long ball threat, this sentiment is wishful thinking. The crystal ball is alive and well, and it’s pointing at a strong “under 52” between KC and Oakland. Stay tuned. UPDATE: Looks like the game has been taken off the board based on injuries to Randy Moss and Priest Holmes and personal reasons for Trent Green. The Pulse expects all three to play in this game, so if the total comes back up in the low 50s, our recommendation is still to make a medium play here on the "under". If the total falls below 50, pass on the game. Visit www.skybook.com to wager today! |
