Pittsburgh Penguins -125 over Florida Panthers (NHL)

$25 to win $20

Just believe in Penguins in this spot. Yes, Luongo is a better goaltender than anybody Pittsburgh can throw out there but can't forget the talent the Penguins posess. The Panthers are an up and coming team but rely on Olie Jokinen and a young group to carry them. Panthers are something of 5-1 at home but haven't been that stellar on the road this year. They've lost 3 of 4 on the road. Penguins have only played 3 home contests this year from 8 games so hopefully the home cooking will pay results here against a weaker squad in my opinion. Can't believe the Pens are 0-8

I am not a bad NHL prognosticator... this is what I'm telling myself so far this season

St Louis Blues +135 over Phoenix Coyotes (NHL)

$15 to win $20.25

Keith Tkchuck is rumored to make his return tonight (this isn't etched in stone) but even this gives me hope for the Blues here. I wouldn't consider them out of this with him. The Coyotes aren't a deep team and the Blues present plenty of quality talent in the likes of Weight, Drake, Cajanek and hopefully Keith tonight. I think the Blues are worth a shot here. + money...

Colorado Avalanche -165 over Edmonton Oilers (NHL)

$75 to win $45.45

Colorado stomped Edmonton at Skyreach last week 7-1. The return of Milan Hejduk really boosted the Avs that night. Edmonton has returned Ryan Smyth to the ice and that's a big boost for their team, doctors had ruled him out 4 weeks until he made his suprise start against the Avs. I take Avalanche here because of the home ice and the horrid goaltending for Oilers. Avs have deeper scoring at the moment too with punch from Svatos, Liles and others.
