| The Pulse is making a huge impression in the handicappers’ forum of late, being picked up by syndications all over the US and Canada. Can’t really blame them—the Pulse has not lost since Oct 9th, accumulating a whopping 27 units during that stretch. If you didn’t make money during that time, then get on board now. The Pulse has come up with another live “dog” that is sure to surprise at first, but will get you the coin at the end of the day and watch your book go to the bank one more time. Play of the Week The Pulse's Record: +27 Units Houston Texans vs. Kansas City Chiefs We are enjoying such a nice run that we decided to play this one conservatively. As stated in earlier columns, The NFL gets tough as we approach Thanksgiving. Better to play a sharp dog with value, especially at home, as injuries, weather and the grind of the season wears down the NFL teams. The Houston Texans have been playing better lately, covering the last three straight, following some changes in their coaching staff. They beat Cleveland at home and played tough away games against the best in the AFC in Jacksonville and Indianapolis. This team has started to get it together and what better way to show its improvements to the public than to play a nationally-televised Sunday night affair with the struggling Chiefs? The Chiefs do not possess any real pass rushing threat, and this has always been the problem for the Texans. They are expecting their stud running back Dominick Davis to return this week, and David Carr has been better of late, throwing for more TDs than INTs. The worry here is the defense, but KC has struggled to get points on the board this year. The intensity of this home game combined with the chance to get on national TV will have this Dom Capers defense riled for a big night. The Chiefs have been overrated all year. They have an injured QB who does not have a true long ball threat at receiver. All year, defenses have been double-teaming Tony Gonzalez, and this strategy has worked to make the Chiefs more of a running team. With Priest Holmes gone for the year, the job has been assigned to Larry Johnson, a very capable back who is running behind a 2nd team offensive line with all the injuries the Chiefs have had to deal with. The defense is a work in progress, and the secondary has also been hit hard by the injury bug. Since this will be a back-to-back road game for the Chiefs, after the putrid performance in Buffalo, the Pulse feels strongly that the Chiefs will be lucky to get out of Houston with a victory, let alone cover a very long spread of 7. This game is the Super Bowl for the Texans. They will take the momentum that they have established over the last three weeks and look for a big home victory broadcast on ESPN. The Pulse always recommends taking “dogs” that have a chance to win and this game has that appeal. The Chiefs come into this game wounded and on the cusp of determining their playoff fate, hence the reason for the huge spread. The Crystal Ball is working overtime as the Texans come up big and make their season with a huge win at home while the Chiefs lick their wounds as another NFL playoff season begins without their presence. Go with the Houston Texans to cover this ridiculous spread and possibly to win the game. Login and wager by visiting www.skybook.com Last edited by Tommy : 11-19-05 at 08:53 PM. |
