| San Francisco, CA (Sports Network) - The San Francisco Giants placed pitcher Jason Schmidt on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with a right shoulder strain. Schmidt is 2-1 this season with a 4.71 earned run average in seven starts. But he is just 0-1 in his last five outings since opening the season with wins in his first two games. The 32-year-old righthander has won at least 13 games in each of the last four seasons. He was an All-Star in 2003 and 2004. The move is retroactive to Sunday, and the Giants recalled righthander Scott Munter from Triple-A Fresno to fill Schmidt's roster spot. 05/10 18:51:58 ET powered by www.sportsnetwork.com. |
