Trainer: Graham Motion

Graham was born in Cambridge, and raised in the village of Herringswell, Newmarket, England; attending school in England until 1981. His family moved to America where Graham finished his remaining two years. Graham's parents come from a great racing background. His father, Michael, was internationally recognized as the representative for Tattersalls, the British sales Company and as a top Bloodstock Agent in his own right. Jo, his mother, rode as an Amateur Jockey in England, and worked as an assistant trainer in England and America. She also took care of the 1951 Grand National winner Nickel Coin. Jo now owns a successful tack shop in Middleburg, VA.

Graham began his career at Hall of Fame trainer Jonathan Sheppard's Stable. He worked there for six years and in that time traveled all over Europe, mainly with his charge, three times Eclipse Award winner Flatterer. After this, he traveled to Chantilly, France to work for Breeders Cup winning trainer Jonathon Pease. It was there that he met his wife, Anita, who was working for the private trainer to HRH Aga Khan, Alain De'Royer Dupre.

After returning to America in 1990, Graham began his first experiences at the racetrack with well-known two-year-old trainer, Bernie P. Bond. Three years later, Bernie Bond retired and a handful of his owners decided to keep their horses with Graham.

Jockey: Edgar Prado

Edgar Prado is a native of Lima, Peru and hails from a racing family - his father is a trainer and two of his eight brothers are jockeys. He dominated the Maryland racing scene for years with multiple riding titles at both Laurel and Pimlico, but in the summer of 1999 decided to shift his tack to New York. He won 1,000 races over a two-year span in 1997-1998, to join Chris McCarron and Kent Desormeaux as the only riders to accomplish that feat and led the nation in wins with 536 in '97, 474 in '98, and 402 in '99. He was second nationally in earnings in 2005, when his mounts won over $18 million for the second consecutive year. He also won 299 race in 2005, finishing in seventh nationally while winning at a 20% clip. Prado won the Kentucky Oaks in 2003 on Bird Town and the Belmont twice: Birdstone (2004) and Sarava (2002). He has ridden in the past eight Derbies, with a win aboard Barbaro in 2006.

Courtlandt Farms is the breeding and racing operation of Don Adam. Don Adam was born in 1935 in Bryan, Texas. He graduated with a business degree in 1957 and was chairman and CEO of First America Bank until its acquisition by Citigroup in 2005. Adam's involvement in racing did not begin until 1995 when he attended Saratoga as a guest of W.S. Farish, owner of Lane's End and former U.S. Ambassador to Great Britain. Courtlandt is located in Ocala, Florida, which is where foals are raised; Adam's broodmares, numbering around 30, are predominantly located in Kentucky at Lane's End. Some notable horses owned by Don Adam include Film Maker, Sweet Talker and Smoke Glacken.
