In the NRL.... I love the Eels to do a job over the broncos and in the process claim top spot on the table, heading into the finals next week. Eeels to cover -13.5 v Broncos - $1.90 Eels have now got a full strength team, with some key inclusions back for tonight's game, Broncos are completely the opposite, decimated with injuries with their playmaker Darren Lockyer still out with injury. good luck

In the AFL.... I like the Swans to cover ATS and even possibly pinch this one and win against the eagles tonight. Swans to cover +14.5 v Eagles - $1.90 Momentum is everything in sport, and along with the crows, the swans are the form team in the competition. On the flip side, the eagles having dominated the season for much of it, have been on a slide in the past month, losing both away and at home. This one is a form pick, lets get it done good luck

Demons to cover +4.5 v Cats - $1.90 Demons are coming into the finals with the momentum, with some close wins against quality opposition. Cats have had one decent win against the eagles but other than that have been on a slide. good luck

Tough on the Demons, BG. I knew the Demons were on form, but playing at Cats, it's a big ask. Well, I really fancy the Kangaroos to beat PA today. PA missing their skipper last i heard, Roos playing at home. Altho PA was the champs last year but Roos has been having a great season. At 1.8, that's what i call a good odd !!! Let me know what you think! ![]() Last edited by $@M : 09-04-05 at 12:32 AM.

Just to make this bet even more convincing, here are some stats: KANGAROOS V PORT ADELAIDE WHERE & WHEN: Telstra Dome, 2:30 pm AEST, Sunday September 4. TV & RADIO: Channel Ten, Triple M, 3AW, ABC, 5AA, 6PR OUR COVERAGE: live scores, stats & audio, Game Day News Desk, match replay (24 hour delay) HEAD TO HEAD: Kangaroos 11, Port Adelaide 2, Drawn 0. LAST TIME: Kangaroos 15.10 (100) d Port Adelaide 14.12 (96), Round 18 2005 at Manuka Oval. FINALS HEAD TO HEAD: Kangaroos 1, Port Adelaide 0, Drawn 0. LAST TIME IN A FINAL: Kangaroos 15.10 (100) d Port Adelaide 8.8 (56), Qualifying Final 1999 at the MCG. HEAD TO HEAD AT THIS VENUE: Kangaroos 1, Port Adelaide 0, Drawn 0. LAST TIME AT THIS VENUE: Kangaroos 21.14 (140) d Port Adelaide 7.6 (48), Round Eight 2004 at Telstra Dome. THE MEDICAL ROOM: Both sides are reasonably healthy going into this finals campaign. The Kangaroos only have three players on their injury list - Daniel Motlop (hamstring), Blake Grima (shoulder reconstruction) and Jess Sinclair (hamstring). The first two are out for the year, but Sinclair is a chance to play this week and will undergo a fitness test. Likewise, the Power only has three players hurt. Two of those - Jacob Surjan (fractured eye socket) and Elijah Ware (ACL) - wouldn't have featured anyway, but the other player is skipper Matthew Primus who re-injured his right anterior cruciate ligament against the Dockers last week. Primus has undergone full reconstructions on both knees during his career and the club has confirmed he will require exploratory surgery - ruling him out for the rest of the season - to determine the extent of the damage. HOW THEY GOT TO THE FINALS: It's been a year of dizzying highs and despairing lows for the Roos who started the season on fire with five wins in succession, but then lost their next four in a row - their season apparently slipping away when Geelong thrashed them by 85 points at Skilled Stadium in round nine. However, Dean Laidley managed to right the ship - snapping the losing slide with an inspired win against Brisbane at the Gabba - with the Kangaroos winning eight of their last 13 matches to secure fifth spot. The Power's premiership defense got off to a shaky start with its first six games yielding one win, a draw with eventual wooden-spooners Carlton, and four losses - including a 78-point pounding at the hands of cross-town rivals Adelaide. Their season continued to sputter along until a gritty win against the Saints at York Park in round 11 sparked a three game winning run that culminated in a 117-point thrashing of Hawthorn. However, Port continued to struggle for consistency and went win/loss for the rest of the season before putting two wins together in the last two rounds to beat out Fremantle and the Western Bulldogs for eighth spot. THE WHITEBOARD: Only two matches between these sides have seen both teams exceed 100 points, so don't tune in expecting to see a shootout. A tight, close-checking encounter is more likely and the side best able to apply physical pressure on the ball carrier will win. The vital statistic in this regard is the tackle count and the Power comes in dead last in tackles laid over the course of the season. Add to that the fact that the Roos are the most elusive bunch going around - they are the least tackled team in the comp - and you get a major area of concern if you're a Power fan. THE VERDICT: Has Port come good at the business end of the season or did it scrape into the eight only to be shown up by the battle-hardened Roos? History rarely plays a role when two sides hit the park on gameday, but it's hard to ignore the Kangaroos' 11-2 record against the Power. Equally difficult to dismiss is the Power's poor road form this year which has seen them win just three times in 10 attempts and come up empty-handed from its two visits to Telstra Dome. Having said that, Port Adelaide should have won the most recent encounter between these two and the Power trumps the Roos in terms of finals experience. This should be an absorbing contest with both sides evenly matched, but Port's inconsistency on the road may prove to be the determining factor. Kangaroos by eight points From www.afl.com.au

Full Time... so fucking embarassing... got raped by the bookies... Kangaroos 11 . 11 (77) P Adelaide 26 . 8 (164) I just really don't see this coming. So much faith on the Roos who had a good season overall, against the PAs, who barely made it to the finals and without their skipper... Not even a close match... If you're not so good at Maths, i'll tell you it's 87 points they lost by. Read the article above, it said Roos by 8, not lost by 87 !!! Grrrr....

I'm going to hit some super league: St Helens to cover -40.5 v Leigh - $1.90 St Helens to put the cleaners through the pitiful Leigh. Leigh's last 3 matches read as follows: Lost 16-68 to Hudders Lost 20-76 to Hull Lost 0-74 to Leeds So when you get the best team in the comp against them, a 100 points is on offer even if they do decide to rest some players. good luck
