| McCline: I'll definitely stop Brock! April 12, 2005 Fightnews.com was recently on hand at the Gold Coast Gym in West Palm Beach, Florida, to look in on heavyweight contender Jameel McCline as he prepares to face unbeaten Calvin Brock on PPV April 23 in a critical bout for both fighters. On this day, Jameel sparred four grueling rounds with unbeaten Eliseo Castillo and three less intense rounds cruiserweight Nikolay Popov. We spoke to McCline after his workout. How big is this fight for you? It's an important fight only because I'm coming back off of a very competitive loss against IBF champion of the world, Chris Byrd. After this fight are you looking to getting another title shot pretty quickly? I don't want to sound cliche', I'm not really looking past this fight, I'm looking at this fight. I've got a lot of work to do, a lot things to correct, a lot of conditioning things before I look past anyone. Looking back at the Byrd fight, is there anything that you would have done differently? I would have paced myself in the third round when I got him hard at the post and just coming out and trying to get him out of there. I attribute that to lack of amateur experience. I jumped on him, I should have stayed boxing because I would have got him again. I would have caught up to him. I just went and tried to get him out right then and I blew a lot my reserve in third round, not to mention I was 270 lbs. What are you going to come in at this fight? I'm not sure man, I'm still hovering around at 270 but it's different 270. What's your take on Calvin Brock? I think Calvin Brock's a good fighter. I think he's undefeated, so he has a lot of confidence. He doesn't know what it is to lose. It's a big step up for him. I don't care what he says or what he thinks, or what anyone else thinks, it's a huge fight for him. What's your prediction? I'll definitely stop Calvin Brock! APRIL 23 on ESPN-PPV 12-ROUND WBO WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Antonio Margarito (30-4, 21 KOs) VS. Kermit Cintron (24-0, 22 KOs) 12-ROUND WBA LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Juan Diaz (27-0, 13 KOs) VS Ebo Elder (22-1, 14 KOs) 10-ROUND WELTERWEIGHT BOUT Shane Mosley (39-4, 35 KOs) VS. David Estrada (18-1, 9 KOs) 10-ROUND HEAVYWEIGHT BOUT Calvin Brock (24-0, 20 KOs) VS. Jameel McCline (31-4-3, 19 KOs) ************* :D

| nice article....mccline should win that fight, i think he is very underrated as a fighter, but the best fight on that card will be the margarito/cintron fight, that is going to be an all out war. The rest of the card I don't think is that great, mosley should win easy, although who knows where his confidence is after losing some of his last few fights, and I don't see elder being much of a problem for diaz.
