Champchu: Bumped at break, dropped back from sixth to seventh more than four lengths behind after a half-mile, rallied wide from fourth in stretch, made up more than 3 3/4 lengths and lost by three-quarters of length at six furlongs on Jan. 28. Ok to Pay: Chased pace outside in fourth more than five lengths behind after a half-mile, angled out in stretch, closed fast to make up nearly 6 1/2 lengths and lost by a head at six furlongs on Jan. 22. Mattingly: Bumped hard by rival at break, raced eighth more than nine lengths behind after a half-mile, angled out for the drive, closed fast from fifth to make up four lengths in stretch and gained second by 1 1/4 lengths at a mile on Jan. 15. LAUREL PARK Civil Rights: Saved ground racing seventh more than 9 1/2 lengths behind after a half-mile, angled out on far turn, advanced three wide into stretch, blocked behind rivals in fourth in final furlong, checked late and lost by a half-length and neck at a mile on Feb. 17; appeared more than likely the best. Easy Way: Broke next to last, advanced to 10th more than 20 lengths behind after a half-mile, advanced steadily to fourth angling out for drive, made up more than 4 1/2 lengths in stretch and lost by 1 1/2 lengths at a mile on a sealed sloppy surface Feb. 4. (Raced seven lengths behind in fifth after a half-mile, moved up four wide on far turn, made up 2 1/2 lengths in the stretch and collared leader quite late to prevail by a neck at 1 1/16 miles on a good surface Jan. 29.) PHILADELPHIA PARK Splinter One: Trailed by more than eight lengths after three-eighths of a mile, saved ground while advancing to third and splitting foes in stretch, closed well to make nearly 3 1/2 lengths and lost by a neck at 5 1/2 furlongs on Feb. 11. Mr. Snippington: Raced fifth between rivals more than 3 1/2 lengths behind after a half-mile, fell back on turn, eased out for drive, rallied from fourth in stretch to make up more than 4 1/2 lengths and lost by a half-length at 6 1/2 furlongs on Jan. 29. Notimetoquit: Saved ground tracking pace in fourth after three-sixteenths of a mile, blocked and forced to race under steadying restraint from midway on turn, split foes while advancing from third in stretch, made up 1 1/2 lengths and lost by a neck at five furlongs on Jan. 22.
