I must take what I'm given and today seems to be no exception. I put faith in Liverpool here, they will have Fernando Morientes back now, he's starting to crank it up big. Liverpool with also send Milan Baros and Steve Gerrard back to the pitch to try to get a 3 points against recently hot Blackburn. Their streak might have something to do with their opposition, best of which a 1-0 loss to Everton (who have been slumping themselves). Blackburn beat Norwich match before 3-0, before that, 3 consecutive losses. This might have something to do with the signing of Robbie Savage... unfortunately for Blackburn he won't play. Paul Dickov is fighting fitness issues these days and can only seem to find the back of the net from the penalty area. Their other recent signing, Robbie Keane is having problems with his hamstring as well and even if plays he won't be 100%. Liverpool are coming off 2 straight losses and a team of their calibre the averages favor them at Anfield. Fortunately for pool' their last 2 losses were both away from home (1-0 to Newcastle, 2-0 to Birmingham), 2 disappointing losses. However, Liverpool at Anfield are 5-1-2 over last 8 and only losses have come against Manchester United (1-0) and Chelsea (1-0). With the recent problems of Blackburn's health I must lean towards Liverpool here in perhaps a 1 or 2 goal win. Morientes is rounding into form and should see a good amount of action in this one. Put him with Baros up front and you have a devastating connection for Liverpool, they will get going sometime. Expect 1-0 or 2-0 Liverpool.

Under is my play in the UEFA Cup game at Romania today as Villareal with head over after Steaua has come off a win vs Valencia (Villareal's Spanish counterpart). Villareal have issues up front and are very likely to play for a single point here, 3 would be a huge bonus for them. With absences in Rodriguez, Forlan and Riquelme I fail to see how Villareal score. Villareal are a solid defensive club when actions call for it and I expect them to limit the Romanian side here, neither side will want to conceed early as the weather conditions are bad and the Spanish sides aren't usually very good on the road in bad weather. I expect maybe 1-1 here, maybe less. The injuries to Villareal change the entire complexion of this game. The fact that it's a first game between these 2 helps as well. 0-0 aggregiate ensures safer play in this game. I was going to take Bucharest pk a few days ago after I found out about the suspensions to Forlan/Riquelme but the Romanian side should come out flat too as they haven't played in some 3 weeks even in their domestic league (due to the bad weather). I like the prospects of the under here so I'll play. I don't know how either side can score in this one. Temperatures at gametime in the 5 to 9 degree range.

Liverpool dominate but fail to score, Blackburn playing entire game for draw, 9 men in their own zone all game. I'm very disappointed with this result, I have lost a number of times on Liverpool now... pretty pathetic result consider the lineup Blackburn played, people lost money today.
