Her opponet Jelena Jankovic is having the best year of her life and is on her way to becoming a top 3 player. I think on any surface other than clay I would pick Jankovic but since it's clay I'll roll with Justine.
I don't cap WTA at all but 50-3 for Justine last 3 years on clay, pretty dang unbelievable. She plays a lot of error free tennis and it shows. How many errors will Jelena be forced into tommorow I wonder?

Out of boredum today I'd lay on your plays but why do that when I can bet on it on the fly

BOL today, as far as I can see your plays look solid!

Anna Ivanovic........10 units........2005 belonged to the Belgians, 2006 belonged to the Russians and 2007 belongs to the Serbs. It's tough going against Maria Sharapova but I think Ivanovic has a great shot at winning this match. Both players are tall, have great serves and plenty of power but I think the one thing that seperates them is their movement on clay. Sharapova doesn't slide. I think in order to be one of the best on clay you have to slide. (Unless you're Serena) But Ivanovic is playing out of her mind right now and I think as long as she stays away from making too many unforced errors she has a great shot.
Maybe I'll get in on your WTA this week coming

Nice calls.

No problem, Matt and thanks guys. The men's semifinal matches are not worth betting on so i'll just stay away until the finals.

Gotta love futures. Good job.

Nadal is great on clay but unfortunately for him there is only one major played on it. I think he is a great player but in my eyes Federer is still better because he domintates year around. Nadal does not make the finals of any other major. Nadal is the undisputed king of clay but that is about it.

agreed...but rafa did make finals at wimbledon last yr, which is supposedly his worst surface and he barely plays on it...the difference between the two is federer will only lose to maybe 4-5 players on the tour if that...nadal, canas, bandy give him trouble...and maybe roddick or someone else can beat him here and there...nadal is more likely to lose to other players more often but he can beat fed in the big h2h meetings..

I kind of disagree with that. Nadal ONLY beats Federer at the French. The "rivalry" that they have only takes place once a year in Paris. Federer wins everywhere else. And Roddick will definitely not beat Federer. He disposed of him earlier this year at the Aussie open. In my opinion, Andy Roddick is the most overrated player in professional tennis. But i do agree with you about Canas and sometimes David Nalbandian, they do give him trouble.

Congrats to Nadal for winning his 3rd consecutive French. Nadal is the best in the world on dirt, no doubt about it. Federer is still #1 and the most consistent player in the world of Tennis right now and maybe ever.

Federer is #1 on Grass, #1 on HC and #2 on Clay.

Nadal is #1 on Clay. Maybe #2 in the others, I don't know.

HD to HD doesnt mean much if Federer is winning the other 3 GS a year and Nadal isn't even getting to any of the finals to meet him, with the exception of last years Wimbledon.

Nadal has won the last 3 French Open's and has a total of 3 GS victories, 2 of which were against Federer in the final.

Federer has won 10 GS, 4 on Grass and 6 on HC in the last 4 years, which 1 was against Nadal in the final.

Nadal has a long way to go yet, as does Federer. Nadal can win the next 10 French Open's, but if Fed is still dominating the other 3, Nadal will never eclipse Federer or take #1.

Tennis is about consistency and dominance. Killing clay and beating the best in HD to HD isn't the definition of that.

Alot of people say that Federer will never be the best of all-time if he cannot win the French, even though only 1 man has stopped him the last 2 years of doing just that and has absolutely dominated all other surfaces in the last 4 years.

Nadal is on a huge run on clay, but that's where it ends, right now at least.

How can anyone compare these 2 players and say who the best is when one is just short on one surface and dominating the rest and the other is dominating that one.
