| Monday: Stake 4/5: Bjorkman (Stella Artois) Blake (Gerry Weber) Ginepri (Stella Artois) = -114 Bjorkman is a quality career grass player (30-14 record since 02') and he's off a quality showing at Roland Garros where he matched a career high by making it into the 4th round. He will be upstart for this match, Jonas is a serve and vollyer by nature and Justin Gimelstob doesn't posess much of anything to combat that. He should be pressured here and an average player like Gimelstob being rushed by Bjorkman from then net should give him a lot of grief here. Just like the matchup. Sam Querrey seems to be a guy trying to get his foot into the door. He's got a modest hardcourt record this year at 9-6 and has played a total of 2 career ATP matches on grass going 1-1. Blake is no stranger to this event and no stranger to the grass putting together a 6-2 record last year. Just based on the fact that Blake had such a poor clay season and his counterpart being American, I'm sure he's no stranger to what Sam Querrey can do here. Querrey has lost to similar style players Tommy Haas and Nikolay Davydenko this year. Both with similar styles to Blake. Everytime Querrey has faced a top 10 opponent he has vowed out nicely. I expect Blake to win here even if it is a little closer than it should be. Ginepri has been traditionally a good player on all fast surfaces. Currently on a 5 match losing streak Ginepri will welcome the grass and the faster surface, he'll also welcome his unknown opponent Richard Bloomfield who has kicked around for a few years but has never quite made anything of himself yet. The quality of opponents Bloomfield has faced is VERY weak. He's been a challenger player for all time. Ginepri should score a nice win here. Just typed what popped into my head about these matches... GL! B

I know Benneteau isn't hte greatest ATP player but playing a Columbian on grass and losing the first set to a late break, down a break now in the 2nd set. A Columbian beating a frenchman on grass, this one I'll have to get a hold of. Especially after Benneteau beat him 6-2, 6-1 on hardcourt not long ago. I'm sick right now, expecting this guy to get back in this. B

| Figured that -120 looked suspicious. Columbian beats the Frenchman in straights. I'd laugh but I'm just a little ticked about this one right now. Blake & Bjorkman best cash today... B

| Querrey beating Blake, anybody else watching this match? Blake dominates one service game then loses 15-40 another? THe guy takes 2 or 3 break points then gives up 4 straight points... What do I have to do here now, just bet majors. This is a fu**ing joke. I know Querrey is an up and comer and at 6'6 and only 19 he will be somewhat decent. Right now he shouldn't even be on the court with Blake. Seems everytime James wants to assert himself he dominates. Other than those times he's hitting a shitload of shots back into the net and looking rather useless. This Querrey isn't mobile at all and should be disposed of here. Sick. B

| I know you love the grass season Buck. Is this tourney on Grass? The transition from clay to grass is always tough on players, except for Federer of course. BOL buddy... |

| Tuesday: Stake: 4/5 Nalbandian (Gerry Weber) Karlovic (Stella Artois) Roddick (Stella Artois) = -104 Nalbandian is playing a far weaker opponent and makes this a solid addition to a parlay. Gicquel hasn't beaten anybody. Benneteau might be his best victory this year. He has never played a game on grass and on hardcourt 14-16 career doesn't say much for him. He's been bouncing around for years playing a scatter game when he can. Nalbandian is trying to revive a solid career and recently made it into the 4th round at roland garros, a respectable result. Nalbandian is 15-5 on grass since 2002 and is one Argentine that when on his game can challenge anybody in the game. This should be no problem for Nalbandian at all. Karlovic? Why not, he's beaten Marty Fish all 3 times he's played him. He's beaten him at the US Open and the Aussie Open, both times Fish was playing solid tennis. Most recently beating him in February of this year on hc. Karlovic is a beast at 6'10 or whatever he is and he generates a boom with that service. His mobility isn't great but neither is Mardy's. History says a lot for me here. I also like the fact that Karlovic has already played several matches on grass getting to the finals of a challengers event at Surbiton. I'll take my chances with the big Ivo on the grass here. Roddick will enjoy being off the clay and back at the home of where he owns the fastest serve ever at 154mph? Either way Radek should put a small challenge here but Andy in this first round match I just don't see it. He's trying to stick around the top 3 and now that grass is upon us I feel it's time for this American to make some good runs and put that huge serve back to fine use. Stepanek should have shitloads of grief tommorow with Andy's serve, it should be fun to watch. Stepanek booms himself but he should be slightly overmatched here. Stake: 3/5 Davydenko +100 over Melzer (Gerry Weber) Why? I have NO faith in Jurgen Melzer, he's Austrian for god sakes! ![]() He's had a relatively good career on grass but I mean, average at best. Melzer's best surface by far has been clay and Davydenko has beaten him both times he's played him on his best surface. Davydenko is the #2 seed at this tournament sure. He plays very well on hardcourt and faster surfaces and plays pretty error free tennis, something Melzer does not. Each of hte last 3 years Melzer has failed to reach the .500 mark on hardcourt and has been inconsistant on grass. Davydenko has had a sad career on grass but he hasn't had too much experience on it. Given the level of quality of these players and where each is at in their careers right now I can't not lay on Davydenko here, he's a player for all surfaces and I have to believe that his 1-10 mark on grass (since 2002) has to be improved on here. Melzer is just too inconsistant for me, the only thing he got going for him is his left hand. The better player is Davydenko and regardless his grass history I'll bite. GL! B

| Davydenko wins at even money. Karlovic wins -225, Roddick wins -600 Nalbandian -600, loss.. of course. I got nothing else to say on this shit today. Watch 3 matches just to see Nalbandian win 1st and lose 2 straight. I won't bet on this guy again this summer. 1 fluke wimbledon and now he can't even beat an unknown guy from France with NOTHING more than a first serve. -600, hilarious. Slight - day. Nothing like waiting 7 hours of tennis to see a -600 lose. AGain, hopefully some of you got on Davydenko B

| Wednesday: Feelin' good about today. Stake 5/5 Karlovic (Stella Artois) Nadal (Stella Artois) Hewitt (Stella Artois) = -104 Big, big service from Karlovic, nothing changes there and grass is the best place for him to show it. 13-8 on the ATP tour on grass since 2004. He's taking on a challengers player for the most part here and Karlovic does well on that tour most times. Kuznetsov will likely be nothing more than a practice partner here. Kuznetsov is 2-9 all time on hardcourt, how about 140+ coming straight at ya? Karlovic breaks here he should win. Nadal has big weapons and he showed that last year at wimbledon. He's got the all around game and the muscle and power to win these tournaments on grass. 8-2 last year for Nadal. In 5 sets played this year against Del Porto 3 on clay, 2 on hardcourt Rafa hasn't dropped a set. Bageling the guy on the faster surface. Nadal has one of the best forehands in the game, he should still fair well with his topspin game on the grass. Looking forward to him kicking ass, hopefully no tiredness here. He's a young kid. Hewitt's best surface grass? 39-8 on grass since 2002. Taking on a challenger. Hewitt is fresh off an absence and I've mention before that playing the guy has been a joy. He'll pressure Tsonga tommorow. Even though Tsonga has been making finals in much lesser quality events but 7 ATP matches in the last 4 years or so makes it easy to take a guy who is all to familiar with grass and with Queens. Really liking the parlay today hopefully money. GL... B

| Yeah went fishing today, had EXTREMELY poor results, one of the worst days I've had in a long time. Anyways, law of average says it's soon time for me again ![]() Tsonga is 22 and supposed to be a talent but he's another guy who is just too reliant on his serve. Hewitt maybe had a little issue for the transition from clay to grass, 7-6, 7-6, no breaks... Hewitt is usually a break machine. Poor result, lost both parlays by 1 play today, not fun. No play for Thursday, looking at some soccer plays. B

| I obviously wasn't looking hard enough: Stake 3/5: Max Mirnyi +3.5 +120 over Rafael Nadal (Stella Artois) Big Belarussian is Mirnyi and even bigger serve. It's shown by his results: 2-0 this year, 6-3 last year, 9-3 the year before that. Lets face it, some guys all they need on grass to get by a lot of matches is a booming first service. Rafael Nadal should win this match but I can trust Mirnyi to challenge well here and protect his service a number of times. Even though Nadal is a great player on clay he's not that outstanding a return of serve. I will trust Mirnyi to take at least 1 set to a tiebreak here if he's having trouble breaking Nadal, if Max manages to get a set I will win my bet. He's been really good on the surface the last 3 years, Nadal just coming off the slow stuff and I've seen too much crazy shit this week so far. Lets see Mirnyi boom his way into a real show of a match here. He will attack the net and force Nadal into tough passing shots, we'll see how up to it he is. + money and all that here, why not. Lets see some W's again. GL B
