It's pretty obvious... considering his form from Cincy, beating Roddick in straight sets in the finals, i doubt even Nadal can stop him on the HC.

cmon guys...fed may have won in cincy but he wasnt very impressive...its not gonna be that easy at the open...the only seed he beat was roddick in the final who played a shit 1st set and got hurt down 5-6 in the 2nd...fed may win but roll, cmon lets be real...itll be more of a test at flushing...and lets not forget AA will be back!

Naught, that's wxactly what i mean. Fed X can win even if he's having a bad day and beat a quality player like Ginepri and Roddick. Yeah, his opponents were playing impressive either, but i think the way Fed handled them forced them to play out of sort. He just got that little bit more experience and confidnece in others as well, so i really dun see anyone at Flushing who has a chance against him.

If AA wins another GS, it will be here but I dont think he ever wins another Master series let alone a GS again.

I think its either gonna be Fed or Hewitt

interesting to see the draw. This isn't grass of course and Roger was far from brilliant in Cinci, so maybe......

my concern is the form of his main competitors-- Hewitt is no where near the form he was entering this tourney a year ago. In addition, Fed owns him. I actually thought Hewitt had a chance in last years final. Silly Hope 1..lol

Roddick--time to dump Goldfine, Andy? Dear God please stop coming to the net Vs mutant--it's painful to watch. 1-10 h2h. MAYBE, just maybe Sunday 4:00pm final Arthur Ashe stadium, 20,000 Americans gogin nutty for ANdy....he'll still lose.......lol

Safin--NO CHANCE. Form is no where to be found, not enough matches in since knee surgery. He makes it to the semi's and i'll be stunned

Agassi-- he will get the favourrable scheduling, goes without saying. He MUST not waste too much energy in his early matches. Mutant has tossed him around ytd, doesnt bode well.....

Nadal-- ya' never know. Might be too early, but i'd rather see him Vs mutant then any of the above. He's fearless. Mutant must be licking his chops for his revenge for Roland Garros. Careful what you wish for mutant....

who knows maybe a second tier player can knock him off--Kiefer and Ginepri sure as hell gave him battles in Cinci. Can someone do it in a best-of-five tho?

gun to my head? Mutant wins The US Open...........sure wish Safin was in form enterign this tourney......

lol, it's a term of endearment, my friend.

He IS a genetic mutant; he's not normal. His game is insane. He has all the shots and does it all with grace.

Pete Sampras "He can do just about anything and he dominates everybody. He is the best athlete, the one who moves best on court. What's impressive is that he can play at the highest level without using too much energy"

His numbers? Tommy posted them in a thread. Nutty.

I agree George, Hewitt is nowhere near where he wants to be. I still expect he can make good advancement in this tourney, his seeding will see to that.

I give Andre minimal chance, too many others that can knock him off. Either of Safin, Hewitt, Federer, Roddick or Nadal can likely take Andre. Although Andre did give Nadal a good run in Montreal. Now if only he'd of continued to pressure and be aggressive. But I personally don't think his physical stature and abilities can have him overpower 20 year olds anymore. His game is becoming more about ball placement than punishing ground strokes. I do still think Andre has a great ground game though. Just other areas he's no longer at his best.

Safin has beaten Federer this year and can do it again. It was a major last time, but who knows if he can make it that far again. Marat falls behind early on a couple of sets he could be packing his bags early...

Andy played brilliant all week at Cincinnati but once again proved that there's nothing he can do to dent Roger's game. Hope is correct about the net rushing, it was punishing to watch. Andy doesn't have the footwork to be a good volleyer and I don't know if he ever will. He is trying though
Keep poppin that serve Andy and you'll find yourself in at least the SF of this event.

It's a shame Joachim Johansson didn't get off right this year, I think this kid has the guns to get the job done. Game is a lot like Andy's... powerful forehand and lethal service but what else?

This US Open should see Fed vs Andy again and I won't be disappointed. Nobody else seems to have the ability to get in either of their way right now. Even Hewitt who has a fab record against Roddick lost handily in straights.

TIme will tell it all.

Federer is so ahead of the pack its ridiculous. No one has a remote chance right now if Fed plays his best. Maybe Nadal. The way Fed dismantles Roddick and Hewitt is crazy. these guys are top 5 in the world
