| Wednesday: Parlay: (4 units) Taylor Dent -950 over Lars Burgsmuller (New York) Dent will take additional weight in this match today with Andy losing to Muller in straights last night. The Americans will now rely on Dent, Agassi and Blake to try to bring home some hardware. It's looking bleek even though they have home ground. I like Dent, he got eliminated early in Cincinnati and since then has been resting and preparing for the final major of the season. Dent carries a strong hardcourt game. A serve that is consistantly above 130mph and a very strong net game. Dent is a large, powerful guy. No previous h2h here. Burgsmuller has been a disappointment even this summer. He hasn't played since the Mercedes Cup in Germany where he lost on his own home soil in straights to Jarkko. Hardcourt record? 1-4 YTD, 2004 6-11, 2003 8-12, 2002 11-11. This is a guy that plays almost all his games on hardcourt. These stats make him an average ATP player. Dent is charging for top 10 once again and a good finish in the US Open will see him gain great seeding end of year. I back Dent today with high confidence. Kevin Kim -250 over Michael Lammer (New York) Wish I had more information on Lammer... but I guess that is what makes this an appealing bet for me. He's gotten through the qualifying and he's from Switzerland. He's played some tennis in the past few years but only at tournaments in Switzerland (Gstaad). More of a bet on Kim, another American, at 13-12 he's shown some impressive performances to date but lately he's been up against some good opposition. Kim has lost 3 consecutive first round matches now and should have mustered enough confidence and energy for this match. He's a good young player, decent serve and good quickness. He has played all summer (Indy, LA, Washington, Montreal, New Haven) and has lost to the likes of Robredo, Agassi, Kiefer and a red hot Ginepri. I feel Lammer should be a win for Kim. Time to break out of your mimi slump and get a win where you should. Dominik Hrbaty -360 over Andreas Seppi (New York) Dominik is a guy I enjoy betting on. Quarter finalist at this event last year, he's had a few weeks to rest since he lost in straight sets to Marat Safin at the Masters in Cincy. With credit to Hrbaty, Safin was playing very powerful game at that time and was hard for Dom to get involved. Before he got his own game going Safin was up a set and a break. Seppi 2-4 lifetime on hardcourt, his only win of this year coming against young and inexperience Dimitry Tursunov (who in that match lead 6-1 +1set). Seppi just don't have the game here to defeat Hrbaty in best of 5 I believe, maybe on slower surface. Hrbaty relishes fast court game and has shown in beating Beck, Henman, Novak, Ferrero, Johansson & Robin Soderling. Some of these players are quite strong on the surface (or have been at times in their careers). Hrbaty should eatup the game of Seppi today. I hope for not a retake of Tursunov match. I doubt Hrbaty will commit as many errors here. Clean game and win by Dominik hopefully ![]() GL! B
