| http://msn.foxsports.com/soccer/stor...813162&ATT=177 Man Utd won't appeal Rooney ban The 19-year-old England striker was ejected in the second half of United's 0-0 draw with Spanish club Villarreal a week ago after sarcastically applauding referee Kim Milton Nielsen for showing him a yellow card. UEFA imposed a one-game ban for the expulsion and an additional one-match suspension because Rooney swore at Nielsen in reaction to the red card. United had until Friday to contest the ban but announced Tuesday it would accept the punishment. Rooney will be sidelined for the home games against Benfica on Sept. 27 and Lille on Oct. 18. ------------ Neither of these 2 games will be easy or look like overs the way United are currently scoring.
