Sparta Prague give Poborsky the boot after criticism of coachSeptember 22, 2005

PRAGUE (AFP) - The Czech Republic's most capped player Karel Poborsky has been booted out of Sparta Prague's first team after criticising coach Jaroslav Hrebik, the club has announced.

The announcement came a day after former Manchester United and Lazio player Poborsky, 33, said that he had given up the function of captain for anything that involved working with Hrebik.

Explaining his decision in an interview with daily Sport, the midfielder said: "The captain must be the extended arm of the coach. And I simply don't support all the coach's methods."

But in a statement the Prague club made it clear such comments would not be tolerated.

"We respect Karel as an exceptional footballer and everything that he has done for Sparta and the whole of Czech football," said Daniel Kretinsky, the club's deputy chairman on Thursday.

"Unfortunately public criticism of the coach is a step that no sports club can tolerate," he added. Poborsky, who has been capped 107 times for the national side, will now train individually, said Kretinsky. Sparta were the Czech first division champions last season but Hrebik has proved unpopular with fans since taking over the role last December.

Wow... that's certainly a shocking news to me~ It's ashame that such a good player can lose his cool like that... But I don't think this is the first case, Jaap Stam also go the boot from Man Utd a couple of years ago when he wrote something about Sir Fergie in his book. sucks~
