Default September 29, soccer plays

40 Uefa Cup matches are playing tonight~ Pick carefully and I'm sure we'll all be damn rich by tomorrow...

Well, as i said, there're just too many matches for me to pick all the winners, but it's a bit more interesting and i might say somewhat, probably more predictable and easier to pick, since this is a 2-legs matches (home&away) with aggregate results, so we must take the results from the last match into consideration. I've been around a few forums and absorbed some really nice views from others. Altho I don't always agree with what they said, here are my picks and some analysis:

HERTHA BERLIN (Ger) v Apoel Nicosia (Cyp) *1-0*
Hertha won the first leg by just a goal against this minnow from Cyprus. Like most German teams, they're usually so strong at home and will win this match by at least 2 goals, IMO.

WISLA KRAKOW (Pol) v Vitoria Guimaraes (Por) *0-3*
Shocking result from the last tie with Wisla went down 3 nothing... Tonight, Vitoria will play defensive the whole night and will hope to lose anything less than 3 goals. I don't see how Wisla can not break through their defense. How much Wisla win by depends on when their first goal come, but it'll definitely be one-way traffic in Poland tonight.

Rapid Bucharest (Rom) v FEYENOORD (Hol) *1-1*
Anyone who watched the last match between these two will know why i pick Feyenoord tonight. Feyenoord had all the possession and attacked the whole time last match and were so close to get their second goal so many times, but it was raining really heavily and plus some lucky saves. Then the last 5 min they conceded a sloppy PK to allow Rapid to rob them the result. Feyenord is first on Dutch league with 5 consecutive wins and I expect Rapid to try their best to hang on to the away goal, in which they won't succeed.

LOKOMOTIVE MOSCOW (Rus) v Brann Bergen (Nor) *2-1*
Most Russian teams are strong at home, and this one is no exception. Loko will win by at least 2 goals here.

AZ ALKMAAR (Hol) v Krylva Sovietov (Rus) *3-5*
I'm still wondering how they lost 5-3 in the first tie in Russia to this mid-table team. But playing at home tonight will make a big difference and i expect to get their revenge and win by at least 2 goals to go thru to the next round.

GATALASARAY (Tur) v Tromso (Nor) *0-1*
The condition in which they played in last match was ridiculous; hard rain, strong wind and muddy pitch. Playing in Turkey tonight will be different, and with only one goal deficit, the Turkish will run over this minnow easily.

STEAUA BUCHAREST (Rom) v Varalenga Oslo (Nor) *3-0*
Steaua thrashed them 3-0 last time away from home, so what do you expect what's gonna happen this time playing at home? Varalenga needs to score and the game will be much more open from Steaua to counter or find some openings. Well, another thrashing, i'd say.

MARSEILLE (Fra) v Germinal Beerschot (Bel) *0-0*
Needless to say that Marseille will win by at least 2 goals here. I think the goalless draw last tie was probably the coach's strategy to play it safe, but not here tonight.

SPORTING LISBON (Por) v Halmstad (Swe) *2-1*
Two teams in different class. Sporting with much more experience in European cup matches will be another run away winner for me tonight.

MALMO FF (Swe) v Besiktas (Tur) *1-0*
Besiktas is in trouble right now in their own league, lost 3 consecutive matches and fell to 11th in the table. They're in desperate position and in need of a win to have a chance a go thru, but that desperation will come to nothing against Malmo tonight. Altho Malmo hasn't been in great form lately, with 1-2 lost last match in their league, but I fancy them to win here.

AUSTRIA VIENNA (Aut) v Viking (Nor) *0-1*
Austria lost first match only by 0-1, and usually most Norwegian teams play horribly away from home. Austria will win this one by at least 2 goals for me.

PARTIZAN BELGRADE (S&M) v Maccabi Petah Tikva (Isr) *3-0*
They won 3-0 away from home... what else do i need to say?

OK, i think that should be enough for tonight plays. I know there're a lot to read up there, but those are the selections that I've chosen out for tonight. Just a warning, I'm going VERY BADLY in tennis plays today (so far 0-4 for the day), but I'm hoping my luck would turn for soccer tonight.

PICK CAREFULLY and you might be richer tmr.

Best of luck to everyone...

It's very tempting to add EVERTON (Eng), who lost 1-5 in the first tie against Dinamo Bucharest (Rom) into that list above. The Evertonians are going thru a bad patch on form lately, but I think they will give their best into this match in front of their fans and will at least win.

Well, what the heg, i'm adding Everton into my parlay...

btw, you guyz might wanna drop Malmo FF from the plays above. After looking at the line for this match, I dunno how Besiktas become a fav here, but i'm gonna take Malmo for single, not parlay. just play safe, altho i still expect them to win.
