| Andre Agassi says he regrets his attempted appearance at the year-ending Masters Cup in Shanghai with an ankle injury, and the effort may force him to miss the 2006 Australian Open in January. "It's arguably worse now than it was two weeks ago, so I set myself back going to Shanghai," Agassi said. "I have a bone bruise that, literally, is still a world of concern." Agassi has since exacerbated the injury by playing singles and mixed doubles with wife Steffi Graf at a charity exhibition in Virginia. "After my experience in Shanghai, I can confidently say I'll never get on the court again unless I'm 100 percent ready," Agassi said. "I was just absolutely resentful that I made the decision to go on there less than my best. I was real upset." Agassi also vented on Wang Liqun, deputy director of the organizing committee for the Masters Cup in Shanghai, who accused him of withdrawing after playing one match without notifying anyone, and brought up his past injury history while playing events in China. "I certainly didn't appreciate how irresponsible (Wang) was," Agassi said. "It was very discouraging for me. I'm frustrated by the whole thing...There was also pressure from the tournament as well as the ATP. Everybody wanted me to play and I wanted to play, I just shouldn't have." Agassi has said he will sit out the claycourt season, which takes too much of a toll on his body, and now may be forced to miss the Australian swing. "Australia has now become a concern, no question about it," Agassi said. "Until this is better, I can't make any sure statements. Right now, I'm worried about my training. I have hope that the next week or two will be big, big gains."

| I like Agassi, but dude should just retire already and quit hindering his legacy. Is it a shame or not that he can still compete on a high level still? Just goes to show you how weak the mens Tennis field is or how good Agassi still is? I would say the lather. |

| Yeah... i think he's better off retiring while he's still on the high. No doubt he's a legacy of tennis... a real character as well... but his body is gone... the amount of hair on his head says it all... lol Anyway, if he doesn't retire, then BOL to him. ![]() |

| no AA wont be playing the french nor will he play any clay court tennis, as he shouldn't as the wear and tear on the body would be too much....he can still compete on grass and def is a threat to win any hardcourt tourney he is in provided he is healthy...hopefully he is healed and can play in the aussie open...
