UEFA Cup:

4/5* Roma -1/2 -141 over FC Basel (UEFA Cup)

Roma is currently trailing Basel by 2 points in group and MUST WIN if they have any aspirations at all of entering the knockout round of 32. If no win they will be completely in the hands of the Red Star Belgrade (vs Stausburg). Roma knowning that the French side (Strausburg) will be sitting all but 2 or 3 regulars will likely be of no benefit to them, giving Belgrade the advantage in the odds (1.85 Belgrade/1.95 Strausburg). This is an important game for Roma and they will return Francesco Totti and Olivier Dacourt for tonights UEFA Cup tie with Swiss side Basel. It is likely that Basel will employ a 'defensive' strategy and be careful with their prime striker Matias Delgado only making a single striker formation with perhaps Mladen Petric in that role. Roma coach Spalletti is demading a strong home performance from the Italian side as they should be somewhat content in playing a side from Switzerland. I expect if Basel tries to employ defense over offense today it could get them in trouble. This Roma team has put up some good efforts in recent months and should be pretty reliable today at home (I believe). Last time in European action Basel had to come back from Norweigan side Tromso (down 3-1) to scrape out a 4-3 home win. I rate Roma over both of these sides. Off a few disappointing results Roma are due here.
