Bailey Ober is a 6-foot-9 inch stiff. He is my least favorite starting pitcher in the American League. Ober had a 5.09 ERA last season for Minnesota and has a 4.59 ERA this season. Fortunately for the Twins, Ober has been out for nearly six weeks because of an elbow strain.
Ober returns to make his first start since May 30. I have no problem fading him against Cleveland starter Gavin Williams, who is 9-4 with a 3.89 ERA and 123 strikeouts in 106 1/3 innings.
Williams has made three career starts at Target Field and has a 1.38 ERA in 13 innings.
Cleveland has a top 10 bullpen with an elite closer in Cade Smith. The Twins are tied with the Royals for having the highest bullpen ERA at 5.24.
The Guardians are missing Jose Ramirez. But the Twins also are missing their best offensive player with Bryon Buxton out.
