New York was one of the biggest disappointments last season, but they come in with a lot of optimism here in the 2026-2027 season. New York is built with vets like Zibanejad, who they’ll lean on this season. He ranked 5th in the league last season in power play goals and this offense should be far better this year. They struggled to get going last year, but will put an emphasis on having a much better start. Boston had some issues themselves with consistency and the Rangers can wear them down. Chicago and Houston will open their Wild Card round on Tuesday and the under is the move. Houston needed the final day to clinch their playoff spot and the AL West, while the White Sox were eliminated from the AL Central race in game 161. Both teams will go with bullpen games, which they saw a lot of success with during the regular season. Hagen Smith will open for Chicago and he was a huge piece to this bullpen’s success down the stretch of the season. He held an ERA of just 1.29 and came up with multiple innings efforts when they needed it the most. AJ Blubaugh was similar in terms of his role in this Astros’ pen. Both pitchers will look to set the tone early and this game will have both offenses struggling to string together hits. Back the under.

Philadelphia and Atlanta play in the Wild Card Series and the under in Game 1 is the move. Chris Sale will go for Atlanta and he is off a stellar season. Sale finished a 2.16 ERA and dominated all season long. Two of his last three starts were against this Phili side where he logged quality starts in both. Luzardo counters and he was equally as good. He finished with a 2.86 ERA and threw a complete game shutout against the Braves two starts ago. Both starting pitchers are vets and have pitched in big games. This will be a spot where they produce some quick innings and we see limited scoring chances. Back the under.

The Panthers and Canes open the season on ESPN and the Panthers have value. It was a down year last season for Florida, who battled injuries from day 1. They’re healthy and have all their key weapons back to make a run. This is a typical spot to fade the defending cup champions as well, as they’ll raise the banner for their Stanley Cup championship last season. It’ll be an emotional day and the Panthers will look to come out and make a statement early this season. At plus money, they’re the move. Locking this in early.
