The Miami Heat have been impressive with their new strategy of playing at the league's fastest pace to open the season.  Whoever gets the rebound is taking it up themselves to get into the offense as fast as possible.  They are also pressuring teams full court, and it's a tough style to game plan for.

The Heat have opened 2-1 SU & 3-0 ATS this season with their lone loss coming by 4 in their opener at Orlando as 8-point dogs.  They came back and crushed Memphis 146-114 on the road as 3-point dogs, and then beat the Knicks 115-107 as 3.5-point home dogs.  Now they take a step down in competition here against the Charlotte Hornets.

The Hornets are getting some love after a 2-1 start to the season with blowout wins over arguably the two worst teams in the NBA in the Nets and Wizards.  They lost by 4 at Philadelphia as 4.5-point dogs, and this will be their toughest test yet.

Brandon Miller was among the favorites to win Most Improved Player as the Hornets were really relying on him this season to carry the scoring load.  He has a shoulder injury that is keeping him out for this one, as are Grant Williams and Josh Green.  Fellow depth piece Tre Mann is questionable.  I don't think the Hornets have the depth to overcome the pressure they will face for four quarters here against Miami.  Bet the Heat Tuesday.

Are the defending champions the better team in this matchup? They come in 4-0 SU, while Sacramento is 1-2 overall. That said, I think the Kings will be competitive and can comfortably sneak in through the back door down the stretch with all of these points. The Thunder may be 4-0 SU, but they're just 1-3 ATS, and they're off a tighter-than-expected 101-94 win at Dallas just last night. The Kings have had a night off following a 127-120 home loss to the Lakers, so they are better-rested. No outright, but closer than expected in my estimation; consider the Kings!
